This dual-sited exhibition, drawing from PAFA's Linda Lee Alter Collection of Art by Women and Bryn Mawr College's (BMC) The William and Uytendale Scott Memorial Study Collection of Art by Women Artists, was conceived by BMC graduate students, Mechella Yezernitskaya and I, in consultation with PAFA's Curator of Contemporary Art, Jodi Throckmorton and BMC's Curator for Art & Artifacts, Carrie Robbins. The exhibition brings together two institutions, collections, and curatorial teams for an exhibition that highlights and reexamines each institution's inclusive efforts to collect artworks by women that employ subversive strategies.
